Strategic planning
Core mass communication classes and elective coursework has strengthened my ability to think through all potential consequences, critically evaluate the success of previous campaigns and apply this knowledge to strategically plan future communication. Below are a variety of class exercises showcasing this skill.
Crisis communication plan
I created this crisis communication plan as an individual final project for an elective class. It provides context for the plan, highlights two potential crises, details sample responses to them and lists many contacts relevant in a crisis response. To create this plan, I had to think through potential crises, critically evaluate their likelihood and impact, and plan a response to address all consequences that may arise. This is one of the most thorough planning exercises I've completed.

Conversations Starters engagement analysis
As part of a class on youth civic engagement, I was required to analyze a local civic engagement campaign and its youth outreach efforts. I sorted through event and campaign reports to identify the structure of the campaign events, factors key to the success of the campaign and the extent to which youth were involved. I combined this information into a proposal for an event that would create similar outcomes but effectively target and engage youth in the community.
This class exercise asked me to research a company and develop a special event plan to address a company need. The need I identified for Alphabet was an increase in talent retention to be on par with other tech competitors. I created an event plan covering all steps of the RPIE model, including plans for both whole-group and small-group interactions, to move the needle on employee satisfaction.

This issues management communication plan is a class exercise that focuses on tactics and key messages Honeywell could implement to address concerns about carbon capture, usage and storage technologies. It highlights my ability to contextualize communication actions, make them relevant for company leadership and accurately plan a timeline and budget for a full campaign.

plan proposal
Working with two other students to create this plan, I outlined the plan, designed the brochure and edited copy for the news release. This project also included a presentation, for which my team earned an A+. This plan is for the same client as the crisis communication plan above, highlighting my ability to plan different types of communication for the same company.
